Position Summary
The Nursing Supervisor will oversee all nursing services at the
Crisis Receiving and Stabilization Center (CRSC), including the
direct oversight of 3 lead nurses. The CRSC is a 24-hour facility
that provides a variety of crisis evaluations and residential
crisis services, including medical clearance for hospital and
residential crisis admissions. The nursing staff at the CRCS
includes an interdisciplinary team of RN's, LPNs, and CNAs.
Required Education and Experience
Bachelors of Nursing (BSN) from an accredited college is required
and/or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
Five years of experience providing nursing services as an RN is
required, with at least one year in a residential, psychiatric
inpatient, or crisis services work environment. And/or an
equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the
required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Must also have at least two years in a supervisor or charge nurse
role.
Related Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of nursing best practices. Knowledge of the principles,
procedures, techniques, trends, and literature related to mental
health, physical health, intellectual disabilities and substance
abuse. Knowledge of psychiatric/medical medications/treatments.
Knowledge of behavioral healthcare medical terminology. Knowledge
of the five rights of medication administration. Ability to
administer medications. Ability to communicate effectively in order
to facilitate treatment and relay information to others as part of
an interdisciplinary team. Ability to perform medical interviews in
order to obtain information and to formulate appropriate treatment
plans and referrals. Ability to promote positive, collaborative,
and professional working relations among co-workers and
representatives in the community.
Willing and available to work modified schedules (weekends,
holiday, etc.) as required; Ability to drive and must possess a
valid driver's license. May be called upon to travel to any Horizon
worksite; transport clients, provide services to client @other
locations. Regular attendance at trainings and Horizon meetings may
require travel to a variety of Horizon sites; Ability to
participate in and successfully pass behavioral intervention
training; includes both verbal de-escalation skills and physical
skills techniques to be utilized with consumers as needed.
