Position Summary
Performs minor and major repairs to all production and facility
related equipment. These repairs include machinery and mechanical
equipment such as motors, pneumatic controls, conveyors systems,
and production machines and equipment.
Job Responsibility
- Read diagrams and schematic drawings to determine work
procedures.
- Install, align and move stationary industrial machinery and
mechanical equipment according to layout plans using hand and power
tools.
- Operate hoisting and lifting devices to position machinery and
parts during the installation, set up and repair of machinery.
- Inspect and examine machinery and equipment to detect and
investigate irregularities and malfunctions.
- Adjust machinery and repair or replace defective parts.
- Perform welding as required.
- Analyze, troubleshoot, and rectify machine, facility and
process problems
- Complete machine Preventative Maintenance duties as
scheduled
- Troubleshooting mechanical systems and equipment to determine
corrective actions and repairs
- Help maintain inventory control of parts and equipment
- Work with other maintenance employees to learn more trouble
shooting methods and skills
- Operate machine tools such as lathes and grinders to fabricate
parts required during overhaul, maintenance or set up of
machinery.
- Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on
machinery.
- Assemble machinery and equipment prior to installation using
hand and power tools and welding equipment. Education
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Agility - Hand / Eye coordination Communication -
Interpersonal, Oral, and Written Mechanical - Use of hand-held
tools
- Knowledge of / and compliance with Safety regulations.
- Be dependable and have a good attendance record.
- Be available to work flexible hours and overtime.
- Self-starter, with demonstrated continuous improvement traits;
effective at working independently.
- Perform tasks through to completion.
- Be mechanically inclined, plumbing, pneumatics.
- At least 5 years of experience as a millwright
- Desired completion of a three to four-year apprenticeship
program
- Experience in Hydraulic and pneumatic equipment
